Where to buy
Home Depot, Lowes, Home Hardware, Rona etc all carry PVC pipes and fittings. Prices and stock will vary, I suggest you shop around.
None of the stores listed above carry 4 inch Schedule 40 pipe, though you may be able to order some at specialty plumbing stores. I have ordered pipe from Boone plumbing in the past.
- DWV 4" PVC pipe
- 4" PVC Drain (may need coupling)
- 4" PVC cleanout plug adapter (Hub x FPT)
- 4" PVC cleanout plug
- 4" PVC cap
- PVC cement
- 5/16" brad point drill bit

- Schedule 40 PVC pipe (Canada) The pipe must be solid core, not foam core.
- Drain that fits Schedule 40 pipe (Canada)
- Cleanout plug adapter that fits Schedule 40 pipe (US only) (verify that this fits your pipe before buying)
- Snap in drain, acceptable alternate drain (US only)
Tie-downs
For hosts who know they have dogs who have a tendency to move tubes, it is STRONGLY recommended that you tie down your tubes. An example of a tie-down is below. The eyehook is attached with a bolt and ground down if longer than the height of the plug cap. The carabiner and bungee can hook onto the rear string of any nearby bale.
